When you hear that title, you can’t help but smile. The good, the bad, and the ugly—we’ve all seen a little of each when it comes to the church!

Yet, in spite of us, God continues to use His people to advance His kingdom.

Our foundation Scripture is found in Matthew 16:18, where Jesus declares to Peter, “I will build my church, and all the powers of hell will not conquer it.”

The church isn’t simply a building made of brick and mortar. We are the church. We are people—imperfect, diverse, complicated, gifted, flawed, and wonderfully created by God. For better or worse, we bring all of who we are into the body of Christ.

So, what does it really mean to be the church?

Join us on this journey as we take an honest look at the good, the bad, and the ugly of We, the Church—and discover how God can use ordinary people, imperfections and all, to accomplish His extraordinary purposes.
